Project Overview:

The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire is a multi-use centre built for Birmingham City University's performing arts school (whilst also used by the public). Garners were brought onto the job by longstanding client Galliford Try as the principal catering contractor.

The commercial kitchen and servery bar were both designed to be as versatile as possible in order to cater for the wide variety of guests welcomed by the Conservatoire, from BCU students having lunch to concert-goers enjoying a drink at intermission.

The Conservatoire was opened in March 2018 by the Earl of Wessex, after having been granted a royal title by the Queen herself seven months prior. Since its opening, the venue has found its way onto many architectural awards shortlists and even won such accolades as RIBA Building of the Year and RICS Project of the Year.
